Ballade No.1 in G minor by Frederic Chopin – Performed by Ines Irawati at TEDxSanDiego 2017

Completed in 1835 after Chopin moved to Paris, this piece has been with Ines since she was very young and living in Indonesia. “I’ve played it many times for auditions which brought me to the United States as a high school teenager, and to be accepted into both my undergraduate and my masters schools.”

Known for her expressivity and virtuosity, Ines began piano and composition instruction at age six and came to the U.S. at age 14 to join the Young Artists Program at Cleveland Institute of Music. She has performed in Carnegie Hall, and soloed with Tokyo Symphony Orchestra.
